  • Forums: NonLeagueMatters, Nonleaguezone.co.uk, TheFans.io, Footbeen.com

Why This Matters

This diversifies the project beyond pure data/technology to document the community-driven, cultural side of football — grassroots experiences, fan traditions, and the human stories that make the sport meaningful.

How the Project Accepts Contributions

  • Pull requests are the primary contribution method
  • Content is dedicated to the public domain

I've just pushed an updated MATCHDAY-COMMUNITY.md to this PR, adding a comprehensive analysis of the 14+ community discussion platforms where non-league fans gather. This new file catalogs:

  • Reddit analysis (r/nonleaguefootball, r/nonleague, r/NationalLeague, r/CasualUK)
  • Forums & tools (NonLeagueMatters, Nonleaguezone.co.uk, TheFans.io, Footbeen.com)
  • Specialist publications (The Non-League Football Paper, Football Ground Guide, When Saturday Comes, Lower Block)
  • Organisations (FSA, ShuttleOne Network, Energeo)
  • LiveScore 2026 survey data
  • Recurring themes, fan verbatim quotes, regional variations, and groundhopping culture

Combined with the existing FOOTBALL-CULTURE.md (13 traditions, 3 A's framework, fan sentiment), the README now has a comprehensive "Football Culture & Fan Experiences" section. All content is public domain per the project's license.
