Updates and DLC
Argosy can download game updates and DLC from your RomM server and place them next to the base game so your emulator picks them up. There is no separate "install" step inside Argosy -- once a file is downloaded into the game's folder, it is in the right place.
When you download a game that has more than one file on the server -- updates, DLC, patches, manuals, and so on -- Argosy opens a file picker so you can cherry-pick exactly what to grab. Files are grouped by category with a live count and size summary, and the selection is pre-checked from your download defaults (below). Single-file games skip the prompt and download immediately.
For a downloaded game, open Files in the More Options menu (Select). The same picker opens in manage mode: files already on disk are checked, the base game is locked, and you adjust from there.
- Check a missing file to queue its download.
- Uncheck a downloaded file to delete it from disk.
The footer summarizes pending additions and removals before you apply.
Settings > RomM > Sync Settings > Download Defaults has an include toggle per file category (updates, DLC, patches, translations, mods, manuals, soundtracks, cheats, and more). These control what gets pre-selected in the picker and what silent downloads (launching an un-downloaded game from Home, batch downloads) include.
Each platform can override any category: Settings > Platforms > [Platform] > Download Defaults. Overrides are tri-state -- inherit the global value, always include, or always exclude.
- Extra files are written inside the game's own folder, mirroring their folder layout on the RomM server. A single-file game stays as a flat file; the per-game folder is created the first time the game gains an extra file.

Nintendo Switch (Eden): updates and DLC are placed in an
extcontent/subfolder. Eden auto-discovers external content from the game's folder via its external content from game directories setting (on by default), so nothing else is required.
Restart your emulator after adding content so it rescans the folder.
The Downloads section groups all transfers for one game into a single record with aggregate progress, plus a per-file breakdown underneath. Pause, resume, and cancel act on the whole group.
Important
Eden currently does not apply external updates/DLC to games launched from a frontend like Argosy (launched via intent). It only applies them when the game is launched from inside Eden's own library. This is an upstream Eden bug, tracked at eden-emulator/Issue-Reports#367.
Until that is fixed, to use updates/DLC with Eden you can either:
- Let Argosy download the files (they land in the correct folder), then launch the game from inside Eden rather than from Argosy, or
- Install the update/DLC to NAND from within Eden (File > Install Files to NAND).
Argosy will continue to download files into the right place either way, so once the Eden fix ships, frontend launches will pick them up automatically with no change on your side.
To free space without deleting a whole game, open Settings > Storage > Games, pick the platform and game, highlight the Updates, DLC, or Soundtrack category, and delete just that. Add-on content re-downloads from your library whenever you want it back. See Storage and Paths.
