About The Pull Request

Damaging a human's limb transfers target to the chest if there is no limb (due to it being destroyed/amputated), previously this caused all damage to be lost

Why It's Good For The Game

Some people view this as a bug. Many people only aim chest because targeting a limb, destroying it and then dealing 0 damage to the human thereafter is annoying. Opens up more interesting gameplay people dont have to worry they're dealing 0 damage because they chose to interact with a system after successfully destroying a limb

I really see no point in doing this massive of a buff, you're forcing someone shipside, which is already good enough. This will only make biotic limbs even more of a trap since you're essentially expanding the 30% damage vuln to the entire body.

It's not a bug. It is like this very intentionally. The annoyment of players should be alleviated where possible but not in cases like this where it is a very intentional game mechanic. If you're annoyed that you can't delimb someone while also having a guaranteed kill that's on you, the choice between more consistent kills or sending someone shipside is more interesting. Tradeoffs are fun, getting everything in one is just taking away depth from the game.

If anything I'd argue this does the opposite of make things more interesting. You are taking away the difference of aiming chest compared to aiming for limbs. Why would you ever aim chest with these changes? Aiming limb will do the chest damage for you anyway, and killing someone while also delimbing them is better than killing them and not delimbing them..

Not like xenos are in need of buffs in general currently.

I worded it poorly, look at the code damage isn't transferred just what is targeted

I could make it a probability of transferring target, so you aim arm and if it's gone 50% of the time the target changes to chest

I see your point, still having a probability of transfer is a good compromise i think. Aiming limb wouldnt be a complete benefit, youd still have to pay attention. I was mainly thinking in terms of zombies. Having 100% of your shots miss when a limb is destroyed is a bit silly, annoying and a noob trap, otherwise you'd have to constantly be changing target every few seconds with each zombie which is more annoying
