Purpose of change

Currently you can make multiple mods that can attach universally to all guns magically including pistols and crossbows, like grip_mod, which, should not be able to do that.

Describe the solution

Remove the crafting recipes that don't make sense like making an underbarrel mount that installs a rail on almost any gun that lacks one with a soldering iron, plastic and a dream
Remove any of the modified mods if we think they don't make sense, like the modified grenade launchers.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Additional context

making a pr with some recipes for mods that do make sense is on our to do list

lightning links (llink) seem to have the way they can be made clearly

I've always assumed attachments have Picatinny mounts – it's the only thing that makes sense, really – so "universal" isn't a stretch. If that's the case, a lot more guns have Picatinny railing than should, and there's absolutely no need for *_mod attachments.

Most Picatinny foregrips attach to pistols with underbarrel rails just fine:

a mod slot/attachment point is just a rail (not a specific kind of rail) and we just assume all attachments can fit on said rail. it's less that a grip can't fit on a pistol and more if it does fit on a pistol we should probably just let them, but the crafts don't make sense either way.

looking into this a bit, vertical foregrips are mostly meant for recoil control, and would be most useful for something firing something bigger than 5.56, or with a very high fire rate, neither of which are common on pistols. an angled foregrip will not fit on most and using it would mean probably wrapping your hand around the slide and making the gun not cycle, those are meant to aid you when doing a c clamp on your rifle. if you put a foregrip on a pistol you're also giving up your second supporting hand mostly, which very well could result in you being less accurate, all for practically 0 benefit. so instead of making it so you can attach foregrips to a pistol and making them mostly negative, it's a lot easier to just not let you attach foregrips to your pistol.

the ones we were thinking of downright removing were the modified grenade launcher variants. also our pistols don't really have the underbarrel mod slot, probably to avoid foregrips being attached.

note this is all from someone with 0 hands on gun experience and we'd be glad if someone with actual experience with guns would speak on this (if that includes you then that's great)
