Getting Started

Creating Your Account

Getting started with AVideo is quick and easy:

1. Go to the website and look for the "Sign Up" or "Create Account" button (usually in the top right corner)

2. Fill in your details:

   • Choose a username (this is how others will see you)
   • Enter your email address
   • Create a strong password
   • Fill in any other required fields

3. Click "Create Account" or "Sign Up" to finish

💡 Tip: Choose a username that's easy to remember—you can't change it later!

Verifying Your Email

After signing up, you'll receive an email to confirm your account:

1. Check your inbox for an email from the AVideo site

2. Open the email and click the verification link

3. You'll be redirected back to the site with a success message

⚠️ Can't find the email? Check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, look for a "Resend verification email" option on the login page.

Setting Up Your Profile

Make your profile stand out so people know who you are:

1. Log in to your account

2. Click on your username or profile icon in the top right

3. Select "My Account" from the dropdown menu

4. Add your information:

   • Display Name: The name shown on your videos and comments
   • About Me: Tell viewers a little about yourself
   • Profile Photo: Upload a picture (see detailed steps below)
   • Social Links: Add links to your other social media (if available)

5. Click "Save" at the bottom to keep your changes

Uploading Your First Video

Ready to share your first video? Here's how to do it!

Step-by-Step Upload Guide

Step 1: Find the Upload Button

Look for the "Upload" button—it's usually:

• In the top navigation bar

• Or in your account menu

Step 2: Choose Your Upload Method

AVideo offers several ways to add videos:

Method	Best For
Direct Upload	Videos from your computer or phone
Import from URL	Videos hosted elsewhere online
Embed Link	YouTube, Vimeo, or other platforms
Record Webcam	Quick recordings directly in browser

For your first video, we recommend "Direct Upload":

1. Click "Select File" or "Choose File"

2. Find the video on your computer

3. Select it and click "Open"

Step 3: Add Video Details

While your video uploads, fill in the important information:

Title (Required)

• Make it clear and descriptive

• Keep it under 100 characters

• Example: "How to Make the Perfect Pancakes"

Description

• Explain what your video is about

• Include any relevant links or timestamps

• Add keywords naturally to help people find it

Tags/Keywords

• Add words that describe your video

• Separate each tag with a comma

• Example: cooking, breakfast, pancakes, recipe, easy

Category

• Choose the category that best fits your content

• This helps viewers find your video when browsing

Thumbnail (Optional but recommended)

• Upload a custom image that represents your video

• Good thumbnails get more clicks!

Step 4: Choose Privacy Settings

Decide who can see your video:

• Public: Anyone can find and watch it

• Unlisted: Only people with the link can watch

• Private: Only you can see it

Step 5: Publish!

1. Review all your information

2. Click "Save" or "Publish"

3. Wait for the video to finish processing

💡 Tip: Larger videos take longer to process. You'll get a notification when it's ready!

Not sure which upload method to use? Here's a quick guide:

Direct Upload ✅ Recommended for most users

• Best quality
• Full control over your content
• Supports most video formats (MP4, AVI, MOV, MKV, etc.)

Import from URL

• Great for videos already hosted online
• Saves time if you have a direct link to a video file

Embed Link

• Perfect for sharing YouTube/Vimeo videos
• The video stays on the original platform

Record Webcam

• Quick videos without any editing
• Good for vlogs or announcements

Managing Your Channel

Your channel is your home on AVideo—make it yours!

Customizing Your Channel Page

Make your channel look professional and inviting:

Adding a Profile Picture

1. Go to My Account

2. Scroll down to "Profile Photo"

3. Click "Select Photo"

4. Choose an image from your device

5. Click "Save Profile Photo"

💡 Tip: Use a clear, recognizable image—your face or logo works great!

Adding a Channel Banner

Your banner is the large image at the top of your channel page:

1. Go to My Account

2. Find "Channel Art" section

3. Click "Select new Channel Art"

4. Upload your banner image

5. Click "Save Channel Art"

💡 Recommended size: 2560 x 1440 pixels for best results on all devices

Writing Your Channel Description

Tell visitors what your channel is about:

1. Go to My Account

2. Find the "About" or "Bio" field

3. Write a short description of your channel

4. Click "Save"

Creating Playlists

Playlists help organize your videos into collections:

1. Go to your channel page or find the "Playlists" section

2. Click "Create New Playlist" or the "+" button

3. Give your playlist a name and description

4. Click "Create" or "Save"

Adding Videos to a Playlist

From the video page:

1. Click the "Add to Playlist" button (usually looks like a + or list icon)

2. Select which playlist to add it to

3. Done!

From your playlist:

1. Open the playlist

2. Click "Add Videos"

3. Search for or select videos to add

Organizing Your Content

Keep your channel tidy with these tips:

Using "My Videos"

This is your video management hub:

1. Click "My Videos" in the menu

2. Here you can:

   • Edit any video's details
   • Delete videos you no longer want
   • See statistics like views and likes
   • Change privacy settings

Using "Organize Program"

Access all your playlists in one place:

1. Click "Organize Program" in the menu

2. Drag and drop to reorder playlists

3. Click on a playlist to edit or delete it

Watching Videos

Using Watch Later

Found a video but don't have time to watch it now? Save it for later!

Adding a Video to Watch Later

1. Find a video you want to save

2. Look for the clock icon or "Watch Later" button

3. Click it—the video is now saved!

Finding Your Watch Later List

1. Click on your profile icon or menu

2. Select "Watch Later"

3. All your saved videos appear here

Removing from Watch Later

• Click the clock icon again on the video
• Or go to your Watch Later list and click "Remove"

Using Favorites

Favorites are for videos you love and want to find easily again.

Adding a Video to Favorites

1. While watching a video, look for the heart icon or "Favorite" button

2. Click it to add to your favorites

1. Go to your profile menu

2. Click "Favorites"

3. Browse all your favorite videos

Playback Controls

Get the most out of your viewing experience:

Control	What It Does
Play/Pause	Start or stop the video
Volume	Adjust how loud the video is
Progress Bar	Jump to any part of the video
Fullscreen	Watch in full screen mode
Quality	Choose video quality (720p, 1080p, etc.)
Speed	Watch faster or slower (0.5x to 2x)
Subtitles	Turn captions on/off (if available)

💡 Keyboard shortcuts:

• Space = Play/Pause
• F = Fullscreen
• M = Mute
• ← → = Skip backward/forward

Interacting with Content

Liking Videos

Show appreciation for videos you enjoy:

1. Below the video, find the thumbs up 👍 or "Like" button

2. Click it to like the video

3. The button changes color to show your like was counted

Leaving Comments

Join the conversation:

Writing a Comment

1. Scroll down below the video to the comments section

2. Click on the comment box (it might say "Add a comment...")

3. Type your message

4. Click "Post" or "Comment"

Replying to Comments

1. Find the comment you want to reply to

2. Click "Reply" below that comment

3. Type your response

4. Click "Post"

Comment Etiquette

• Be respectful and constructive
• Stay on topic
• No spam or self-promotion
• Report inappropriate comments using the flag icon

Following Channels

Never miss new content from your favorite creators by following their channels:

💡 Note: Following a channel is free! This is different from paid subscriptions/memberships that some sites may offer.

How to Follow a Channel

1. Visit a channel you like (click on a creator's name)

2. Click the "Subscribe" or "Follow" button

3. The button changes to "Subscribed" ✓

You can also subscribe from any video:

• Look for the Subscribe button next to the creator's name below the video

Finding Your Subscriptions

1. Go to your profile menu

2. Look for "Subscriptions" or "Following"

3. See all channels you're subscribed to

Unsubscribing

1. Go to the channel or find them in your subscriptions
2. Click the "Subscribed" button
3. Confirm you want to unsubscribe

Your Account Settings

The "My Account" section is your personal area where you can update your information and make your channel look great.

What You Can Do Here

1. Edit Your Details:

   • Change your name, email address, password, and other basic information

2. Change Your Profile Picture:

   • Scroll down to "Profile Photo"
   • Click "Select Photo" to upload a picture
   • Click "Save Profile Photo" to keep it

3. Change Your Channel Banner:

   • Find "Channel Art" section
   • Click "Select new Channel Art" to upload a banner
   • Click "Save Channel Art" when done

4. Save Everything:

   • After making changes, scroll to the bottom and click "Save"!

Here's what all the buttons on the left side menu do:

Menu Item	What It Does
My Account	Edit your personal info and customize your channel
My Videos	Manage all your uploaded videos—edit, delete, or organize them
My Channel	View your public channel page (what others see)
Watch Later	Videos you've saved to watch another time
Favorites	Videos you've marked as favorites
Organize Program	Manage all your playlists
