Learning Objectives

• The player is challenged to distinguish between (symmetric / anti-symmetric) maximally entangled states and product states via measurements of each qubit.

Solution

1. Both qubits from each pair are measured on the Z-axis.
2. If the results from the first two qubits differ then all subsequent measurement results from the second channel are flipped.
3. If a differing measurement result is found (indicating that the original qubits were in a product state) then a 1 bit is output.
4. If no measurement differences are found then a 0 bit (set with a large delay) is output.
