- Bill Williams brings up his slides from the day before.
- simple way to link sessions with other MPI objects (how about MPI_Session_from_group, MPI_Session_set(get)_name)? Or session attributes? Hui says also have accessors of session for comm, window, file. Also need to make changes to QMPI interfaces (but since that's a WIP its not problematic).
- Mini review of QMPI. Prototypes leverage init constructor run when a shared library is dlopen'd.
- Bill's presentation we are going off of is at https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1sCzyOGKlvdl48xy8Wjs6zHxfU8oYxeXsWI8GNjN7m5I/edit?slide=id.g37f2ee73616_0_10#slide=id.g37f2ee73616_0_10
- Hui notes that the QMPI_Context call could be modified to provided more explicitly session handles, etc.
- Issue for the QMPI is at https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-issues/issues/638
Did not have time/need to discuss that.
okay sounds like we should add these now that we have several use cases including the QMPI one.
Skip as only two regular attendees called in.
Consensus was to have a follow-up meeting for the tools and sessions WG to sync up. Ideally prior to the next MPI Forum in December. Should sessions isolation concept influence how tools (QMPI in particular) are architected? Seems that tools may want the opposite of this isolation concept. We should discuss this at our joint meeting.
