Draft PR for testing.. Cause if I didn't actually miss anything this likely means we can drop using any JS parcel bundling..

Definitely want to upstream this first.

I tested in Docker and did not note any Javascript issues.

@BryanQuigley would you mind if i took a stab at refactoring this with alpinejs before upstreaming? it makes reactivity nice and clean. i can open up a pr against this one next week when i'm caught up on client work.

@lydiascarf absolutely - I kinda switched to just factoring out boostrap first- but have ran out of time to push further-
