Are we in a position to share physics with NCAR?

  • try to use NCAR's YSU scheme in the UFS
    • will show us how easy/difficult it really is
    • science-wise, the MPAS-UFS version should be close
    • find someone at DTC to do this
    • not an operational scheme/scheme of interest for EMC, but there are users for it in the UFS/SCM community
  • not a high priority for NCAR, but try to use Thompson MP from UFS in MPAS
  • down the road, we want to facilitate the logistics around it (how to use/search for schemes, suite definition files, ...)
