CCPP Framework (issues, PRs, discussions)

• Add support and testing for equivalent units #571

  • Replaced by Support equivalent and identical units in capgen and ccpp-prebuild #656
  • Mike K started a review, needs one more
    • Dustin has volunteered.
    • Also need to make sure that Courtney's request on the previous PR is addressed in the new one.

• Testing refactor #612

  • Ready for review 🎉
    • Couple of additional things Michael W. wanted to add, but stopped here so that the PR doesn't get too big.
    • There are a few changes to the CMake build process, but otherwise all of the changes should be solely in the testing code.

• Allow for differing module/file names Issue#636

  • New implementation of differing module name #646
    • Steve requested a re-review from Dustin
    • PR #640 needs to be updated with this change once it is approved/merged.

• Update src/CMakeLists.txt: use modern cmake features to install Fortran modules in the correct place #653

  • Merged, cherry-pick to develop needs one more approval: Update develop from main 2025/04/16 #657
  • If CI/CD tests pass will likely be good enough to merge.

• Schemes that appear multiple times in an SDF #655

  • Steve offered a suggestion for rules update
    • Michael K. volunteered to add it to the official rules.

• Michael W. question: What is the desire of holding on to the CCPP-framework command line interfaces? It does cause complexity in the testing system.

  • Dom Heinzeller - I believe the original goal was to help build systems query aspects of the CCPP caps before compilation time. However, one could imagine that CMake could handle a lot of those issues. Then again the command line interface doesn't appear to be a major burden.
  • Michael W. - I could also go either way, although I am partial to pulling it out.
  • Michael K. - Is this documented anywhere, or is this just legacy code?
  • Also questions on what the Datatable is used for. Dustin will reach out to Steve to get his input.
