General Topics

• NCCL

  • No real barrier semantics in NCCL
  • Carl: I think it's okay to merge this without implementing barrier just so we have more to experiment with
    • (general agreement)
  • Carl: some interest in this (RCCL) at the El Capitan Center of Excellence meeting
  • Split this into digestible chunks for review

• Nicole

  • Working on using Kokkos Comm AllReduce in Tpetra
  • Helping another student add some MPI RMA functions
    • Wrapping existing MPI APIs in mpi:: always okay
    • Potential conflict with remote spaces?
    • Came out of discussion with Matthew Dosanjh and a better RMA API / implementation
      • Carl will hopefully get some money to work on this
