Abstract

MCTowns is a town plugin, first and foremost. Its purpose is to bring towns to life and simplify the day-to-day tasks that are associated with running a town. It's capable of greatly reducing the workload of admins and mayors alike. MCTowns can even be integrated with an economy plugin to provide additional features.

What Need Does MCTowns Fill?

Right now, when it comes to towns, the two popular approaches are either using Towny for its simplicity and ease-of-use, or simply using WorldGuard to manage the regions. The former method tends to give admins a lighter workload, but sacrifices customization when it comes to how much area is protected for a town. The latter gives you nitty-gritty control over where exactly everything is and who can access it, but due to the nature of protecting land, the ability is usually only available to admins. This creates a lot of work for admins who normally have enough on their hands.

MCTowns strives to improve the WorldGuard-centric approach. Indeed, MCTowns can be viewed simply as a glorified "wrapper" for WorldGuard. MCTowns provides commands and structure to fuse the raw regions of WorldGuard together with the concepts that come with towns.
