- Towns
- Towns are the top-most building block of MCTowns. Just creating a town does not reserve any land for the town (for that, you need territories).
- Territories
- Territories are the "big" regions. These are usually added to towns by admin at a mayor's request- this is so that the server staff remain in control of which town has protected which land. A town's territories do not need to be connected, so you could create, say, an outpost for a town by creating a new territory.
Territories normal residents shouldn't be added directly to territories, unless you want them to be able to modify every block in the territory. Instead, you can nest regions inside of them. These nested regions are called Plots.
- Plots
- A plot is the smallest region type MCTowns uses. They are simply regions that are "nested" into Territories. In this way, a Territory will contain many Plots, but a Plot only belongs to one Territory.
Plots are generally what you will add your residents to, so that they can build in them. Adding a resident to a plot does not allow them to build inside the entire Territory- only the small spot of land that is their Plot.
- Admin
- Admins are special, and a player is only an admin if they have the 'mct.admin' permission node. They are able to fully control all towns (even if they are not the mayor), create towns, delete towns, and create territories.
- Mayor
- Each town has exactly one Mayor. The mayor has full control within his own town, minus the ability to flag regions with WG flags. He is able to divide up Territories by making Plots within them, but is unable to make Territories himself (only admins can do that). The mayor is also able to promote residents of his town to Assistant rank.
- Assistant / Assistant Mayor
- An Assistant (also sometimes referred to as Assistant Mayors) have all the powers of a Mayor, but are unable to promote residents to Assistant, demote other Assistants back to resident, and change who is the mayor of the town.
- Resident
- The average Joes who are simply members of your town. They are unable to do anything but add guests to plots they are the owner of, and view basic info about towns and regions.
