νικύλεον· τὸ σῦκον ἐν ταῖς Κρητικαῖς γλώσσαις (attributed to Hermonax in Athenaeus Deipnosophistae 76e).

In other words, Hermonax’s νικύλεον and the use of ni as the ideogram for fig in Linear B very likely are derived from this Minoan word.
