Discussion Topics:

• VTK-m update (1.7RC) process + timeline
  • VTK-h testing of new VTK-m done
    • OpenMP crash was resolved
    • (There is a known CUDA crash-on-exit with Lagrangian due to static objects)
  • Working on testing Ascent
    • Current status -- Annotations missing in Ascent, Cyrus is investigating, hoping we didn't miss something in VTK-h checks.
• Yuya is doing runs at scale on Summit.

Stock take:

• Share anything else that should be on our radar (timelines, which ECP App this impacts)

• Marco: issue with Ascent + PeleLM and corrupted field data

Issues:

  • Cyrus wants to try new VTK-m
• UMS (User Managed Software) space on Summit will allow us to have non purgable installs (Terry is working on this)
• Ascent on Spock - we have non HIP, non MPI builds working there
• Ascent on Perlmutter - we still have not built here
  • Still want to know which compilers code teams need
