Updates

  • DSTI Summer Intern, Andres Sewell, concluded their internship.
  • Ascent version 0.9.4 released July 18th

Recent Developments:

  • Cyrus: Lots of release prep
  • Cyrus: Added caliper annotations throughout Ascent's API, Rover and Replay
  • Cyrus: Fixed an issue so only relevant topologies are used in scene creation
  • Emily: Added caching functionality for Ascent action files
  • Emily & Cyrus: Updated tutorial materials
  • Emily: Fixed conduit error when rendering rectilinear mesh with int coords
  • Emily: Added parallel replay with multiple timesteps
  • Emily: Working on a clang formatter to refactor the code
  • Emily: Working on a VisIt & Ascent camera mode parity
  • Nicole: Fixed bug of user defined bg/fg colors being disregarded when rendering a mesh
  • Nicole: Working on 1D and 2D contours -- dealing with CI tests failing
  • Nicole: Working on fixing an MPI hang for Uniform Grid
  • Nicole: Working on the ANARI integration
    • Ingo reached out about a paper using Barney and having Ascent as a use case
    • Nicole got stuck trying to build a CI with c++20
    • Will also need a machine with NVIDIA GPUs, Matrix?

Discussion

ANARI did not get accepted for a SC25 BOF so we will not be teaming up like last year, but hoping for an unofficial get-together Will not be part of Rapids 3. Had a big budget cut and cut all LLNL except ZFP. Only a small amount of money so not a huge loss.
