• Attended JOWOG 34 at the end of February at LANL
  • Cyrus presented on using Ascent as a data source for machine learning
  • Justin presented on how great conduit is
  • Nicole fell asleep a lot

Recent Developments:

• Cyrus: Added 'reflect' capability to the transform filter
• Cyrus: Added capability to provide multiple action files to a trigger
• Cyrus: Added ascent lib version details to the info() call
• Eric: Fixed some umpire issues with ascent_config.mk.in and dray_config.mk.in
• Nicole: Bogged down in some paper reviews
• Nicole: Added case of a structured mesh with an explicit topology to the blueprint to vtkm data adapter
• Nicole: Looking at expanding grid sampling beyond a uniform mesh
• Emily: Updated Ascent's color table input to be more user friendly
• Eric: Working on image tiling for arbitrarily large images using VTK-m's raytracer
  • Looks to be currently lacking the capability to select regions of the data without moving the camera
  • VTK-m will look at this. ex: adding a viewport capability or access to the projection transform or something else
