Email templates

Our hello@does email address often has similar sort of questions asked. To allow more people to feel confident responding to these, this page contains some template answers that can be tailored to fit.

  1. I would like a desk at does

Yes we can certainly help. Our rates depend a bit on what you need, there’s three options depending on how often you’ll be in and whether you want an assigned desk or just want to hot desk.

I’ll start at the top - the most you would pay is £210/month for an assigned desk, this desk would then only be used by you and you’re welcome to leave things behind, monitor, keyboard, plants, etc.! I’ll mention out of hours access shortly, but essentially if you have the assigned desk you can come you can use your desk, the workshop and meeting rooms and wouldn’t have to pay anything more.

Besides that we have our hot desking options, with these you won’t have any guarantee that you will get the same desk on each visit and we would ask that you clear the desk at the end of the day. You can pay £96/month for this or £15/day, the day rate can be brought down to £12/day if you pay £10/month for membership. We don’t set limits on the £96/month option but if you came in all day every day we would suggest that you would be better going for an assigned desk.

Our standard office hours are 9:30-5:30 Monday - Friday. If you did go for the assigned desk option then you can pay an additional £50 returnable deposit to get “out of hours” access, which means you can then come in any time, 24/7.

While coworking you also have the option to book our meeting rooms. Whether you just want a private space for a call, or want to bring a few clients in for a meeting, you can do this without paying anything additional.

We have space available at the moment so I’d recommend you come in and take a look. We offer your first day free, you are invited to bring cake or snacks to share, so that’s a great way to give us a try and see if our space will work for you.

If you have any more questions just ask,

  1. I want DoES to <make something or otherwise do something that I need> how much will it cost?

Making things as a service is, ironically, not something we as an organisation offers. DoES essentially has the space and equipment for people to use, and they can then make whatever they want. One option would be for you to come along to our Maker events and find out more about the equipment to see if this is something that you would be able to make for yourself, with a little help from our community. On the other hand I can, with your permission, send your email on to our Google Group and see if any members of our community would be interested in being paid to make this for you.

If you're happy for me to do that, please let me know - I can include your email address and encourage anyone who might be interested to contact you directly if that's ok.

  1. I would like a mailbox

Just a little info before you get set up, as well as what we need from you.

Our mailbox service allows you to use our address for your business purposes, such as HMRC and Companies House. We'll store any mail that we receive until you are able to collect. We generally ask that it is only used for letters as we do not have a huge amount of storage for parcels, but if you are expecting something larger, just let us know.

Cost is £149 per year, or £15 a month. There is no contract, so if you do not want to continue with the service just let us know and we'll cancel any recurring invoices. We also include 6 days of hot desking with the annual mailbox service to encourage you to hang around and perhaps do a half day in our space while you're picking up your post!

To set up, you simply confirm the company name you would be using and the email I should send an invoice to then, once you've paid, you're ready to go!

If you have any further questions, please just ask,

  1. I want to host an event at DoES

It's great to hear that you're interested in holding an event at DoES Liverpool.

Our standard costs are £120/day (£60 for a half day), or if it makes sense for your event, e.g. for a workshop that you are charging per-person, we can charge a £15/person fee instead. For this you get exclusive use of the event room for the duration of your event and access to the toilets and kitchen where you're welcome to make tea and coffee.

If you are running a community event that is free to attend, we can sometimes offer the events room for free although this does depend on availability.

To check availability it's best to get in touch at hello@doesliverpool.com, we do have an events calendar here which gives a guide - https://doesliverpool.com/maker-events/ - but this doesn't necessarily include private events.

We also require that everybody attending events at DoES Liverpool follows our safe spaces policy that can be found at the following link or on the "Code of Conduct" posters in the space - https://github.com/DoESLiverpool/somebody-should/wiki/DoES-Liverpool-Safe-Spaces-Policy

If you have any more questions, just ask.
