Random pixels twinkle on and off with a fade-up/fade-down cycle, controlled by density and step-timing sliders.
| Parameter | Type | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Percent of Lights | slider | 2-100 | Percentage of pixels that are actively twinkling at any given time. Higher values create a denser twinkling field. |
| Twinkle Steps | slider | 2-400 | Number of frames for a complete twinkle cycle (fade up then fade down). Lower values create faster, snappier twinkles; higher values create slow, gentle fades. |
| Style | dropdown | Old Render Method, New Render Method | Selects the rendering algorithm. Old Render Method uses the original per-frame logic; New Render Method uses an updated approach with smoother transitions. Default: New Render Method. |
| Strobe | checkbox | true/false | When enabled, twinkling pixels snap on and off instantly instead of fading, creating a strobe-like flash effect. |
| Re-Randomize after twinkle | checkbox | true/false | When enabled, each pixel is assigned a new random position after its twinkle cycle completes. When disabled, pixels twinkle in the same locations repeatedly. |
Percent of Lights and Twinkle Steps support value curves for animating the setting over the life of the effect.
High Percent of Lights with high Twinkle Steps gives a smooth starfield shimmer. Low Percent of Lights with Strobe enabled gives harsh spot flashes. Disable Re-Randomize to keep twinkles anchored at fixed pixel locations across the effect.
