The Layout tab is where you define the physical layout of your display. Each prop in your yard is represented as a Model — a named group of pixels or channels.
- Click the Add Model button (or right-click the canvas)
- Choose a model type: Matrix, Arch, Star, Single Line, Custom, etc.
- Draw the model on the canvas by clicking and dragging
- Set its name, channel start, and controller in the properties panel on the left
| Model | Use Case |
|---|---|
| Single Line | Roofline, gutters, simple runs |
| Matrix | LED panels, pixel grids |
| Arch | Arches (see Arches) |
| Star | Star toppers, snowflakes |
| Spinner | Spinning props |
| Sphere | Pixel spheres / balls |
| Custom | Any shape defined by pixel coordinates |
| Model Group | Multiple models treated as one |
Each model needs a Start Channel — the first DMX/pixel channel it uses.
- Set Controller to the controller that drives this model
- Set Start Channel (or use Auto to assign sequentially)
- The End Channel is calculated automatically from node count
The canvas shows a 2D bird-eye view of your layout. Use View > House Preview for a 3D rendered preview of your full yard.
Group related models together so you can apply effects to the whole group at once.
- Right-click the model list > Add Group
- Drag models into the group
